In 2010 a group of locals and former locals banded together to buy the Thallon Pub when ill health of the former owner put its future in jeopardy. It's been a labour of love since then to transform the Hotel and its grounds, while still maintaining the feel of a traditional country pub that can be enjoyed by both locals and visitors alike.
We have an award winning pub, award winning silo art and have just won the Best Grey Nomad Friendly Town in Australia. And that's just the beginning.
The GrainCorp silos in Thallon, home to the iconic "Watering Hole" mural, are the largest single grain receival depot in Queensland. In the last three years over 650,000 tonnes of grain have been sent via train to the Port of Brisbane.
